TRADITIONAL DATES : Northern Hem: March 20 - 21 . Southern Hem: Sept 21 .
Astrological dates vary annually.

OSTARA: SOME KEY POINTS:

  • Equal day and night.

  • Time to reflect upon things that need to be balanced in life.

  • Second planting & fertility Sabbat - a good time to plant seeds and for creating new ideas, projects or ventures.

  • Eggs and rabbits are used to symbolise fertility and fertility of the land / abundant crops. Chocolate is used to signify aphrodisiacal properties. The use of these elements at this time were later adopted and adapted by Christianity.

  • The word Easter also comes from the word Estre or Eostre. Eostre is the ancient Anglo-Saxon Goddess of Spring, the East, Resurrection and rebirth and is also the Maiden of the Triple Goddess (Mother, Maiden and Crone.)

  • A perfect time for "spring cleaning" and for removing things in life that no longer serve us.

  • Time for a fresh, new start.

  • Share the spring vibe by giving flowers from your garden to others !
